step down auto transformer

Hi,
I need to convert 220 volts to 110, so I need to get an step down TX, but I will like to know if Auto TX can also serves as a line filter like the normal Ei step down tx.

No not wired as an auto transformer.
If you want isolation of the secondary from the primary line feed you will have to use an isolation transformer.

Hi,

With autoTX you are still connected to the line, you have not galvanic insulation, with a TX you have but is it a real filter ?
