Rod: innapropriate advertisements - action requested

I've been a member since 2005 and have provided financial support in some years. I find several of the ads offensive (Bad Idea t-shirts, and some other sexually suggestive ads). I have 5 year olds in the house and will just stop visiting unless these ads are removed. Please advise.

If you have firefox they have an addin called Ghostery available that blocks quite a few trackers, there is also another addin called AddBlock that does a good job. I find Google Analytics gets blocked at almost every WEB site I go to including this one.

  Google ads do help significantly to pay for the site, but we block those ads for Contributors that are logged in. I also now know why our Google Analytics never agree with our internal logs. It's actually a great app for seeing our traffic patterns, key words, etc. I wonder what our real data would look like.

    Ghostery is still blocking Google Analytics, so as a contributor without Ghostery, Google Analytics would still be tracking me at the Asylum.

I surely understand. Those ads are served by Google and if you're a logged in Contributor, then you don't see them, so I don't know exactly which ones are offensive. However, if you gave me the URL of the site that from the ad, then I can block the ads by the domain.

    If you see your name in the upper right corner, then you should be good. It's possible that it's a cookie corruption. If so, click on the logout link and try logging in again.
