When I move to the life-care community apartment in June I'll place the LS60s on the longer wall of the 19' X 16' living room with the KC62s in the corners.
Follow Ups:
Please don't put the subs in the corners unless you will be employing effective REQ. Generally, they should be positioned at 1/4 the wall-length from each corner.
Somewhere in that vicinity.
Sub location seems to be controversial, but I'll try moving the KC62s out of the corner.
I moved the LS60s to a recently carpeted room with the front of the speakers 26" from the wall behind them, turned off "wall mode" in KEF Connect, and connected the KC62s using the Connect integration settings. I played a number of my Roon favorites via Ethernet to the LS60. The result was a grand soundstage with perhaps a bit too much bass. The expanded soundstage with subs is an effect I've never understood.
You might find this relevant.
I've pondered why adding subs broadens the soundstage, but I never considered the uncorrelated aspects of LF.
When space permits I use a multiple subwoofer, asymmetrically distributed setup inspired by "The Swarm". When I'm using four subwoofers (all running at very low volume levels), they always end up in different areas of the room but only one ends up close to a corner. In almost any scheme two subs in two corners might be a recipe for boominess. But, try everything out for yourself and see what you think...
If I was using two subwoofers I'd not concern myself with symmetrical placement too much. Symmetrical placement might look tidy but I'd simply put the subs wherever they sounded best - regardless of the way it looks.
