Was the Cremona Auditor designed by Serblin? How about the Cremona Auditor M?
Thanks
El Monte
Follow Ups:
Didn't he used to claim that his speaker cabinets were like "musical instruments" (built like guitars, violins, etc...) in some good sense of the word ?
Dubious claim.
I think the "like musical instruments" reference refers to the lute shape and solid wood construction favored by Serblin. It's my understanding that he originated this type of design but since then many other manufacturers have gone on to adopt a similar shape. To quote from John Atkinson's review in Stereophile, "Like the Amati and Guarneri, the gorgeous-looking Cremona features a cabinet made of layers of maple, with curved sidewalls that give it a cross section something like that of a lute. This is intended not so much to eliminate vibrational modes as to control and tune them so that they have the minimum deleterious effect on the music."
Especially if their release date is in 2008 that is for the M version
I remember that Serblin designed the original Cremona and the Cremona Auditor but not the M series. I purchased a pair of the floor standing Cremonas as soon as the graphite version became available. I still enjoy them.
