Banana Connector for Shotgun Speaker Cable -OR- This

I've been looking for some banana or spade connectors to make a set of speaker cables using 2x10ga wires. Obviously I want little to no effect from the connector but good ones can get very pricey.
Then the thought came to mind, why not use a bare copper butt connector and crimp 2 wires inside while using the one slightly longer wire as the speaker connector. Afterwards I can put a red and black shrink wrap at the ends over the connector.
Thoughts?

You might also try over at the Cable forum...

Lots of people here believe that crimping alone is best-
and if the copper piece is 'pure' it should be great -

I have mostly Crimped and soldered my terminations, or just solder-

But is have not done a lot of comparative listening to wire, or connectors...
