In the late 80's, I made a pair of C3l's, which I enjoyed, before giving them to a friend in Spain when I left.
The other day, he told me that one of the speakers isn't working at low levels, and asked what to do. I think that one of the crossover capacitors is failing.
I will be going to Spain in a month, and would like to bring with me some capacitors to troubleshoot with. The problem is, I no longer have the schematic to the crossovers.
Does anyone know what value caps are in these crossovers?
Thanks in advance,
Peter
p.s. I just made a pair of Linkwitz Orions, which I got playing this weekend. I'm very impressed so far!
Follow Ups:
U could try contacting Fried which is back in business.
Or, would it be possible for U to have your friend open up the speakers and have a look-see at the x-overs?
Here's the link to contact Fried.
Cheers,
~kenster
Thanks for the reply.
My friend doesn't want to open up the speakers, since he's not handy at all.
I had thought of contacting Fried, but thought that I would get a quicker response here.
Thanks again,
Peter
U might try posting your query over on the Vintage Asylum as well.
Cheers
