I had an idea that I could perhaps tame the treble on my Klipsch RF-5's by replacing the (crap) jumpers with something with a bit smoother treble.
Can anyone recommend a good quality cable with relaxed treble? Has to be available as bulk wire so I can make my own jumpers with it.
Thanks!
Follow Ups:
Because they are a bright speaker, like most Klipsch speakers are.
Either pad the tweeter, or use tone control or an EQ.
Try connecting the speaker wires to the tweeters, then the jumpers to the bass.
I have Rf7's and bi-wire from the amp...I use bare wires at each connection (amp and speaker)
I have found out that anything the signal goes through Will tailor the sound to some degree, even lugs!
Use an lpad
Sounds like you need an equalizer, if so get a proper one instead of looking for wire that has flaws that mirror those of your speakers.
That's presumimg that such a thing as a wire with relaxed treble even exists.
I got RB-5's right after they were released and they scared me to death before being broken in. They were very harsh and tinny sounding and after break in they began sounding very balanced (for a Klipsch speaker). Tracing down such a problem encompasses just about everything, though: sources, cables, amps, etc. . . .

I've had them since January. I too was shocked at how bad they sounded when I first hooked them up.
I'm happy with them now though, I could actually live with them how they are, just thought if I could tame the treble a little I would.
You need more than a few inches of cable to make a significant difference, try adding an L Pad to you tweeter if you can.
Cheers
