I've sold several items on Craigslist lately and there have been a couple of attempts to scam me. It goes the same way each time. The scammer says he'll take the item I have for sale but he can only pay with a check. He wants to mail a check for more than the amount of the sales item, with the overage to be given to the buyer's agents as payment for collecting the item. In one transaction for a $125.00 sofa, the scammer sent me a check for $1950.00! Do people really fall for this?

There is also a scam to login to your account. They send you a text message saying that you have voicemail regarding your listings. I didn't open the link. Instead I did a Google search on craigslist voicemails and it looks to be a scam.
It's most likely a scam far as I know. I've had a few text messages telling me that I have two Craigslist voicemails awaiting regarding my listings. I did not open the link but I did a Google search and it appears to be a scam.
I've had this exact scenario many times... Its always an "assistant" working for their super busy important boss..I mock them just for fun!
