1. If the price is too low and too good to be true, it's probably a scam. That means risk to you. That demands a discount.

1. If the price is not too low, then it's overpriced. And it could still be a scam. That means risk to you. That demands a discount.

1. If the sellers description is long and detailed, he's probably bullshitting you. That means risk to you. That demands a discount.

1. If the sellers description is short and vague, he's hiding or not disclosing something. That's risk to you. That demands a discount.

1. It's obsolete technology. That demands a discount.

1. Look at what it sold for new in year 19xx. Less 20% compound depreciation for every year since. That demands a discount.

1. Everyone knows you can't charge Ebay prices anywhere else like Craigslist, Facebook, the various message forums, and so on. So no matter what price you start at, automatic venue discount. That demands a discount.
