I'm getting this message in my mailbox:
Dear Customer,
Attached is your Shipping documents/Invoice and copy of DHL receipt for
your tracking. Please confirm accordingly if your address is correct,
before we submit to our outlet office for dispatch to your destination.
I assume it is phishing, with a nasty attachment I'm supposed to open. I"ve never received anything from a legit courier that asks me to confirm who I am. Anyone else get this message, or confirm my suspicion?
TIA!
Follow Ups:
If you have your eMail reader application set to display HTML messages, they know you viewed the message, which means you are a "live" target and your eMail address is worth a premium. Your address will be sold to many spammers as a result.
If you want to protect yourself you MUST set your mail app to display text only, and you can then click on a button (typically) to display the HtML if you want. But text only will not return a "bug" that tells them you read the message, which makes your address less valuable and eventually ... maybe ... you won't get as many spam messages.
How this works is there is a 1x1 pixel image in the message; too small to be seen by the naked eye. However the image is stored on a remote server. You open the message, your mail app calls for the images to be loaded and offers your address so the server knows where to send the image, and bingo ... they know you viewed the message.
So, not clicking on a url isn't enough. You have to not view the message at all, or view it as text only.
Which is what they want to give your computer.
I have gotten this a couple of times. I just ignore it

We have had the same message. Phishing for sure. soon as it showed up.
These schemes have been around for awhile..... Never click the link..... Real deliveries never require this sort of "confirmation".
Yup - NEVER resond!
