Many of us have bought many items from overseas sellers without problems. In my case, from the U.K., China, Taiwan, Russia, Moldova, Japan, and Peru. The Peruvian transaction was the only bummer and I wouldn't stop buying from overseas sellers because of it. The incidence of bad transactions from U.S. sellers was not great but was certainly greater than the overseas ones.

Fair enough. BUT my point is still perfectly valid.
If you DO get ripped off buying across international border you have ZERO recourse.
This is NOT the case when you buy inside U.S. border. It only takes a few minutes to create an online U.S. postal fraud report. And the postal inspectors DO follow up.
Never happen for international purchase...

Right. And if you never go out of the house, you'll never be hit by a car.
Depends, in the final analysis, on how you want to live your life.
My 2 year old was not afraid of fire until he stuck his hand into the fireplace either...Now he's decided he wants to "live his life" a little differently :)

That's not entirely true about impunity. There are some countries that you can file a report with the local authorities and they will investigate it. I've done in the past but you have to do your homework.
