HERE IS an audioasylum POST WHERE HE IS OFFERING TO TRADE A $1000.00 RCA 845 TUBE FOR A $2500.00 WESTERN ELECTRIC 300A TRIODE. HE MAKES AN EASY $1500.00. i always thought it was against forum rules to buy and sell outside the classifieds.

indeed,WE300A is a nice tube for an amp project. However I'd use something else in the meantime while prototyping it and all the things that go along with that, 300A is a little too valuable to use for that duty until the amp is 100% dialed in.

I can't imagine anyone, anywhere, anytime buying a thing from archaicaudio. Ridiculous prices, ridiculous ads, ads that read like technical dictionaries that no one is likely to take the time to read. Further, if someone is willing to make the tube trade, what's it to you? Did you ever think that perhaps to someone else that is a very timely and beneficial deal?

I have to say that I am truly appalled at the last 3 messages that you've posted. You routinely list vintage gear at grossly inflated prices. You are, of course, allowed to ask anything you like for these pieces...just as Mr. Sawyer (or anyone else, for that matter) may suggest any trade he likes. You REALLY need to stand back and take an objective look at the situation. I doubt, though, that you are capable of doing so.

  Good question. Chances are he doesn't have it. This is Vernon Vogt, who is out to get me now, that I called him on something on the Magnequest forum (which has now since been removed). As usual from him, these groundless ad hominem attacks are to try to cover up his own scammer tendencies. CHeck out usenet posts for some history on this character. Quite the scammer from what I could see.

I don't know Ed Sawyer, but he has 2,300 posts here and perfect feedback. Has he done anything to you that justifies your three posts? Making low offers is no crime; all you gotta do is say, "No thanks," or just ignore him.

Come on - take a deep breath, mix a martini or light a joint (or both), put some good music on, kill the caps lock, and find someone else to deal with. Lighten up a little; it's a hobby.
