If the buyer is paying for shipping and specifically requested Federal Express they have the right to refuse delivery. I've never done it or had it done to me but I can understand the scenario. If the seller paid for the shipping it would not be justified to refuse shipment. All, of course, in my opinion.

seems preety perverse to me. I hope it get slightly damaged on the second fedex shipping.
Hi Volunteer,
Tough year for both of us in football - oh well, basketball is on.
Anyway, the buyer checked FEdX on the Audiogon box and emailed me "please ship FedX, if possible." It was an honest mistake and my shipper took the initiative to ship UPS with $1000 of insurance - because, apparently, UPS will hand carry boxes with a high value. (but the shipper never informed me of this)
Don't you think the buyer, while not happy, should at least receive the package and see if there is any damage?
Take care.
If he said "if possible" and did not make it a requirement of the sale I don't see any justification for refusing the package. If he insisted that was the only acceptable option he has an argument for refusing the delivery. There may be something else going on such as buyer's remorse.
