Money was transferred on Feb. 10.
My emails are not answered. The phone number he gave us does not answer.
I wonder how many others here fell victim to the same guy!.
Right now I am sore and hurt, any smart remarks will just discourage others to come forward. Be compassionate, please.
Are there any Audiogoners in Bangkok who can help?
I have done the transfer cancellation with the Bank, but there is a very slim chance of recovering the money.
I have also sent the email to Audiogon service.
I am at a loss here!

I wish we could have talked before you entered into this transaction. I love Thailand and have been there twice but make no mistake. There is no end to the ingenious scams that await the unsuspecting foreigner. I have personally witnessed this on two occasions but managed to avoid the second scam before falling victim.
I am not suggesting that all Thais are crooked but buyer beware, this is a way of life over there and there is no recourse. One travel book that I read a long time ago gave an entire section cautioning the tourist of what dangers awaits them.
My best advice is to buy locally or at least USA whenever possible. There are exceptions such as when I bought a SME turntable from Hong Kong but my referral source was impeccable.
Lets face it. I will say what nobody else is game to say. Of course there is exceptions but Thia's have no honor or not one to business or any morality as a British person would measure it. Different culture. And there poor. So they don't have the luxury. Thailand is one of the most corrupt sh$t holes on earth. They will set up and murder Australian tourists for drugs while flooding Australia with criminals to sell there amphetamines that they produce of a massive economic scale. They kill there own for speed use even though most their workers use daily to get enough work done. The fact that this guy above that probably gone would wire transfer money to them or ANYONE is naiveté in the extreme. Moral decay is what you get when you overpopulate. The sooner we have a genuinely democratic one world government and welfare system that rewards financially for not having children to cut world population the better. Its the only way to slow down the environmental and moral decay. There is too many of us. We will be living and behaving like sewer rats in the end.
The sooner we have a one world government the sooner you an I will be the sewer rats.
The environment is here for us to use as we see fit. Abuse it and perish. It's really that simple.
Moral decay is what you get with a welfare system.
It's neither your's nor anybody else's business whether or not someone has children or not.
If you think there are too many people here then you should be compassionate and make some room. Of course you won't because what you're talking about is control of others and more for yourself.
