I got the finger from The UPS store; I got the finger from The UPS driver; I got the finger from The UPS 800 customer service number.
A fellow in Hong Kong bought some boxed sets of albums from me. Since he has a UPS account number, he eMailed me a copy of a UPS waybill filled out with all of the necessary information.
After I boxed up his items, I took the UPS Waybill copy to The UPS store to find out what to do next. They were adamant that they would not accept the box for shipment if I brought it to them. They pointed to UPS on line to print the shipping label and get customs forms.
I called The UPS 800 number for international shipping for help. They gave me the link for the customs forms; I paid for a UPS pick up. According to the UPS customer service rep, their driver would bring a new Waybill so that I could fill out an original.
I offered to stop by The UPS store to pick up a new Waybill and fill it out ahead of time so that The UPS driver wouldn't' have to wait.
I hit The UPS store before I went to my weekly ceramics class. That particular night, I had the responsibility to open and close the class room.
When I got to The UPS store and asked for a new Waybill, they were adamant that they didn't have any Waybills, weren't required to have them, and for legal reasons would never give one to anyone. According to them, the only way to get one is from a UPS driver--they pointed me to The UPS driver.
I printed out the customs forms, filled them in, and printed out a copy of The UPS Waybill. I tapped the Waybill copy to the box along with an envelop with the custom forms. I figured it would be quicker to copy the information to the new Waybill by simply placing the new one on the box next to the copy, and then tape the new one over the copy.
The UPS driver arrived around 10:30AM proclaiming that the box had to be taken to The UPS store, that UPS drivers never have Waybills and that the only place to get a Waybill was from The UPS store--UPS driver points me to UPS store.
Yup. We went full circle. UPS store points to UPS on line and 800 number who points to UPS driver who points to UPS store.
While the UPS driver was here I insisted that The UPS store neither had the forms, nor would accept the box; That I paid for the driver to pick up the box and that UPS drivers were the ONLY source for the Waybills.
Impatient to get away, the UPS diver called the local center who told him that since there was a color copy of the UPS Waybill taped to the box to take the box.
The box is in The UPS system, headed to Hong Kong.
We will have to wait and see if UPS gets the box to Hong Kong or gives us the finger and brings it back.

I've purchased "pick-up" service in the past from UPS and just assumed this would be as easy for someone in Hong Kong.

They get all paranoid. But get revenge by coming back later and destroying the place, only to wind up, table turned, drowning in shit. Serious message there.
Every person I talked with gave me a different story. They had me going to locations all across the city and no one would accept responsibility. I finally gave up and took the package to USPS who processed the paperwork and delivered without an issue.
Interestingly, I've had very good experience with UPS international shipping.

Based on your posts here I cannot help but think that perhaps buying and selling items online is not for you.
Perhaps another hobby like bicycling may be an option.

Agreed!!! Poor becketma, always getting screwed by someone, some company or "the system"! And to think that he once defended eBay scammer REALJAZZCAT! To view that, use the link below.

P.S. I do like his Hunter S. Thompson quote.
I think that is called projection Gerry; projecting your feelings, experiences and interpretations onto someone else.
Fortunately, the stories you make up don't have any relevance here in The Sonora Desert.

I lived in the Southwest for 8.5 years, I'm not impressed. Stories that I made up? I just found four separate complaint threads that you started in just the last two months.
As for the Psychobabble above (coming from you it is), nice try. You are not nearly as smart as you think you are.

Fortunately, "..the stories you make up don't have any relevance here."
OK. To be more precise, your stories about me, aren't relevant to my life.
We have signs around here where the county doesn't want to build a bridge over dry river beds, "Do Not Enter When Flooded" The sign isn't a complaint--it is a WARNING.
Turning a warning into a complaint is making up a story.
Calling the well documented and accepted theory of projection "Psychobabble", well, it doesn't have anything to do with me.
Ultimately, your story about "how smart I am", likewise doesn't have anything to do with me.
Come to think of it, judging someone to see if they are as smart as they think they are, seems not only pointless, but also fundamentally inconsistent.
Huuuum.
Maybe I should explain that the title of giving me the finger was crafted to be "catchy" and works because when one points, one uses one finger. In English, one finger can also be described as a finger, or the finger.
Now. Which finger have I used with you?

Aaaaawwwww Shucks.
Thanks for taking the time for stopping by and pointing me in the right direction.
But, I don't take hobby advice from people who own Levinson amplifiers, or for that matter people who can't see the light of hollow state.
Best from warm Tucson, 93F today.

BTW, I also own McIntosh tube amps including an MC2000, Classe, Crown QSC and others. It would appear that you are incapable of system matching. There is a place for Levinson amps, and they sing wonderfully with my Pipedreams, as well as the woofers of Infinity IRS-Betas.
Remember.....bicycling is good for you.

Objects appear, the sun appears, the moon appears, ships appear at the horizon etc.
The story you make up about me, "you are incapable of system matching" is baseless. Plus that story didn't appear, you made it up. It has as much relevance as if you made up the story that I ware an ugly green sweater.

Based on your replies it would now appear to me that you are a serious whack job. If this forum had an "ignore" list, you would the first added to it.

Another story.
Another shrug.
Another perfect day here, sunshine, blue sky, everything is green, many Palo Verde trees are covered with yellow flowers, cacti are starting to burst with colors. Plus, a cold front has swooshed through, plunging temps into the lower 70s today.
You don't need an "Ignore" feature. There is a column called "Thread Starter", and every post has the user ID at the top left of the post.
