Is there a specific placement that you heard results? What "effect" did you hear? I still have the CLC in my possession, and I can't hear a lick of difference no matter where i place it (except when covering one ear with it).

I don't think the orange wafer is a magnet. I've read it's a Li battery. I've also read it's nothing but a sticker. Geoff has stated in the past the removal of the orange dot may render the CLC "somewhat less effective but the Clock would remain quite powerful." IMHO, your findings about adding magnets to increase efficacy is purely coincidental or psychoacoustical.

To be sure, it is a weak magnet. I wasn't so sure at first, but when I placed a sheet of mumetal foil next to it, snapped into place. Mind you, my system is in storage, so I am basing my observations on a relatively small LCD set. However I did give somemumetal to the guy who let me borrow the CLC. I listened to his sytems, and the effect was immediate upon adding the mumetal: bigger soundstage, quieter background, better tonalities and harmonic structure.
As for the video, the effect was manifested by better color saturation, and higher black levels: giving the set a more vivid presentation. things like stranding in hair become more apparent.
Note: I did not add any magnets at all. Mumetal is a highly permeable nickel alloy. I have sheets of foil 15 thousandths thick which I use for various experiments and magnetic field channeling.

  What strikes me as peculiar is that people who claim to hear differences with the CLC claim that these differences are dramatic and always positive. Basically, what you experienced is an improvement in everything . But for the life of me, neither I nor anyone I know who's tried the CLC can hear any real difference in anything . There was no improvement (or detriment) to my four "resolving" audio systems (nor my headphone system). There was also no improvement in my two HDTV LCD sets or my 8" CRT projector. It did as much as the Brilliant Pebbles did .... which is to say absolutely nothing.
  
  I'm not sure what accounts for this gross disparity in perception. I do have my theories though, of course.
  
  BTW, for anyone doubting I have actually tried the CLC, attached is a photo taken earlier this week of the CLC on top of one of my preamps.

    I looked up your system, but I'm not too familiar with most of the components. Are you still using the CV378 in you amp, though?

      Yes, my amp still uses CV378 as regulators.

I'm not sure the CLC could get more 'psychoacoustical'!
