Have you ever measured the distortion of your amps with any of the various 845s? My 211 SETs are almost complete, and I'm curious what others see with large triodes like this.

As a technical illiterate it's all I can do to turn the system on.

  OK, thanks just the same. I've been trying to compile some typical numbers, but it's not easy. Many of the manufacturers are less than totally transparent on this issue. :)

    It's not a simple system. (Check "Dave Pogue" in Inmate Systems) Currently takes 8 discrete steps to play a CD and a bunch more for records and R-to-R tapes. Heaven help me if I had to cope with servers, downloads and all that other modern stuff.
