+1 on Viridian's suggestion.
the WE's are worth it even at their price
level if they work for you.
entry $$$ is steep, but they will literally
outlive you. and they sound wonderful.
(I'm speaking about the NOS original
production WE tubes as they are the only ones I
have heard, can't speak to the new production.)
You might want to check out Gerry E's 300B comment's
elsewhere on AA.
Also, how are the Mitsubishi's working out?

Follow Ups:
They are just awesome! I'm literally sad when it's time to stop listening and sleep. They've completely changed my perspective on speakers. I used to think I had to make compromises because I listen to so many types of music but literally everything in my collection sounds fantastic. Things the Harbeths wouldn't play well just come alive.
Only issue is the bass feedback that's getting to my turntable. Might have to switch the VPI Aries out for something else. Unipivot arm may be the culprit.
Great to hear. (HaHa) You can eliminate
another connection by directly wiring to
the driver units inside the cabinet. I'm
presuming you are using the Canon/XLR
connectors for your speaker wire. This would
depend somewhat on the thickness of
your cable.
Can't speak to the feedback. I'm using an
old custom made card table top that gives me
about 3/4" separation from the floor,
with a cement brick underneath for (roughly)
5 degree tilt. (floor reflections??) YMMV.
My speaker wire is attached directly to the crossover. That's how they came. I haven't investigated it yet because I've been dialing in the Sun amp and switching my phono preamp.... and now the turntable feedback. I'm close to chucking the VPI and trying out a Garrard 401 which I've always lusted after.
I reckon you'll find the Garrard 401 a willing companion. I did my Garrards, after using a Nottingham Analogue Hyperspace for a while. Current 401 is my system stalwart.
