I just spent a long time for naught composing a lengthy reply that just vanished on me. This is the second time this has happened in recent months. I doubt it's an Asylum bug, but have you any idea why a browsing window would simply disappear like that? My cursor was no where near any close buttons as best I can remember.
Follow Ups:
With Windows, anything is possible. I've seen IE crash like that though it usually can be attributed to a specific site with weird Javascript or something. A hard disk about to die or a bad memory chip can do that, but those problems would get progressively worse and happen more often.
Try Firefox.

Firefox does take a ton of memory. Mine's using nearly 256MB with 98 or 10 tabs open to different windows. If you've got less than 500MB or a GB, then you're swapping and Windoze definateyl crashes if it swpas much.
