Mac Mini M4 does something really well

It lets me upconvert to DSD 256 without any glitches. I've done it in the past on my iMac i5, and tried on my 2016 MBP but there would always be an occasional glitch. I've had it running since I got the mini a week ago without problem. Not that it makes a difference really.

That thing is blazing fast, even noticeable against my M1 MBA. I've started using LightRoom and everything is instantaneous.

I once played with on-the-fly HQ Player PCM to DSD upconversion on a 2012 era 4-core Intel i7 Mac Mini. It sort of worked but not w/o running HOT and some glitching. Same for the 2018 era 6-core Intel i7 Mac Mini. Roon has PCM to DSD upconversion and it seems to work OK on my Apple silicon based Mac Mini M1 but I haven't tried any upconversions that are very taxing.

What software / player are you using to upconvert to DSD ?

  I'm running Audirvana Studio using the r8Brain algorithm. Here's my settings, which I honestly don't actually understand, I vaguely recall they are just the defaults.
