I gave up streaming in favor of higher resolution digital music stored on hard drives. I have more than 1000 DSD64 albums ripped from SACDs in addition to more than 500 DSD256 albums from websites such as Native DSD. I have two 5-TB USB hard drives plugged directly into my digital player/DAC/streamer. I prefer the sound of higher resolution digital than is currently available on streaming websites.
To each his own! ;-)
Follow Ups:
I can see the appeal of ripping high quality music over streaming.
Like a home cooked meal vs take out....depending on the cook, possibly better in every way.

I'm not necessarily ripping, I'm buying. Most music nowadays is recorded in higher resolution than is available from CDs or from streaming websites. New recordings are made in DXD and DSD, which is not possible to get from streaming websites. However, these high-resolution digital formats are sold for download.
The music I've ripped from CDs is of a digital resolution currently available from streaming websites. However, they might not have some of the music I own on CDs. Moreover, When I copy an LP, I copy it to DSD128. This is not a format that's available from any streaming website I know of.
Happy listening!

Thanks for clearing that up John.
Enjoy.
