Does your music server ever sleep or is it always on?
If it does sleep, do you use Wake On Lan or some other means to wake it up?

My Innuos Zen Mk 3 is always on
They support Wake on LAN but I leave them powered ON 24/7.My Mac Mini M1 music server is powered ON 24/7 and never sleeps. It draws such little power so why not? In fact, its set up to automatically re-login and re-launch Roon music server software if there's a power glitch. I used to run the Mac Mini on a UPS but no longer need to as the newer Macs and macOS are so resilient to corruption from power glitches.
This is not the case with the Linux based Synology NAS which I also run 24/7 as a Roon music server. NAS volumes have been known to suffer corruption if there's an abrupt AC power outage so I keep my NAS on a UPS. The UPS is set up so it signals the NAS if UPS battery is running low. The signal from the UPS causes the NAS to initiate a 'graceful shutdown' before the UPS battery is depleted.... avoiding any chance of corruption from an abrupt power outage.
P.S. Depending on what I'm doing I'm running the Mac Mini -or- the Synology NAS as the Roon music server. The NAS isn't powerful enough to take full advantage of the various DSP, DSD, and sample rate conversion settings offered in Roon but the Mac Mini M1 is.

NAS (Synology), server (Pi4b/LMS) & streamer (Holo Red/GentooPlayer) are always on.
How do you like the Holo Red?
GentooPlayer is interesting also, I've tried it a few years ago...lots of customization's.

I love the Holo Red, amazing sound quality. Yes, GentooPlayer can be confusing but eventually I got my head around it. I use it as a Squeezelite endpoint with the endpoint RAMsystem mode. Once you understand the thinking behind it, it's basically plug & play. I haven't explored all of the kernel choices, don't have the patience for that, but what I have chosen sounds much better than piCorePlayer (no idea why).

what do you know?
What I don't know is how to edit a post after posting to fix a typo.
Click "edit" above. BTW, what power supply(ies) do you use with the ultraRendu and RPi?
Using a Channel Islands 7v LPS with the ultraRendu and a Small Green Computers 5v LPS with Pi.BTW, I don't have the Edit button in my AA view, will have to explore that.
Edit: Figured out the edit thing.

I use classic view because it better shows thread responses.
