The Raspberry Pi 5 has a RAM speed of close to 30,000 MB writes and reads per second. This is much faster than the Raspberry Pi 4, which has a RAM speed of 4,000 to 6,000 MB writes and reads per second. The Raspberry Pi 5 also has twice the SD card speed of the previous generation.
Seeing that piCorePlayer uses TinyCore Linux which lives in RAM, I would bet everything is snappier with the RPi5.
