Are you running wireless or Ethernet? Have you upgraded to the latest LMS release as well as PcP? Are you running LMS and Squeezelite on the same Device? Or separate?
I am not at home for a few weeks, so I cannot check my release.
Follow Ups:
I'm using an ethernet connection.
LMS version is: Logitech Media Server Version: 8.5.0 - 1710422688
PcP version is: 9.0.0
Squeezelite version is: Squeezelite v2.0.0-1476-pCP
I am running LMS and Squeezelite on the same device (RPi4b).

I'm guessing that you are using a USB cable from your Rpi to a DAC? -- If so, and the USB cable is faulty or a loose connection, squeeze-lite will not run unless it sees the correct DAC that you have it Set for in PiCorePlayer.... This could be the source of your intermittent squeeze-lite failures.
So, try a different USB Cable with a nice firm connection and see if your problem goes away.

That sounds like a possibility, although the USB cable is in good shape and good quality (Tripp-Lite with chokes on either end.)I will try unplugging and reseating the cable on both ends. Perhaps it got disturbed when I was back there changing cables due to recent preamp and amp upgrades.
Edit: I tried removing the USB cable from the DAC while PcP was playing. Squeezelite did NOT stop, and when I plugged it back in the music resumed playing. Watching the PcP main page, Squeezelight remained running the whole time. So it is not an intermittent USB cable causing the problem.

What is your output setting for your DAC for USB on PiCorePlayer?

Here's part of the output settings:

You've got it Set to Default (Which I'm not exactly sure what that does - I never use it.) If you click on the red 'more' next to output setting there should be an output setting starting with 'hw' click on that and --- Try that out and see how it works for you.

I also noticed this (DNS not accessible). Cna't find where I should specify the DNS address.

How did you get to this screen? --- And does this have anything to do with your selecting the 'hw' parameter for your DAC?
![]()
No, I just noticed it before. It has nothing to do with hw DAC parameters. I think I saw it under squeezelite extensions. I just noticed the red 'X' and wondered if it was a problem.
But if you're interested, post it over at the Squeezelite Forums under 3rd Party Software.... Put 'PiCorePlayer error' in the Subject Line. Someone there will tell you for sure....

OK, I'll try the one the arrow is pointing to - working OK so far.

When the lightning lets up I will plug it back in and see what I have the USB output set to. Looks like it will stop in another 4 hours or so.
Well, it was just a guess..... I do know that if squeezelite is stopped with a USB connection, it will not start without a connection to the DAC.
Go ahead and try it.
