Edit: What's the 'Dongle' for? -- I have never used a Dongle on my RPie 3's -- I've got 8 of them... No Drop outs. Also, are your 'Drop outs' only with Hi-Res Material?I'd get an access point for your router... Or maybe upgrade routers (30 feet is not that far). If your Rpie is having trouble, so are other devices in your house.
How old is your router and what is the make and Model?

Not to nitpick too much but just to add another data point to your comment....
I did a RPi 3 Wifi test in my garage when I had it driving my Marshall Powered speaker. The RPi 3 was marginal over Wifi even with an outboard Wifi dongle antenna. Several dropouts and intermittent usable connectivity. On the other hand....
My iPhone (iPhone X at that time) in the same garage location was 100% solid over Wifi with zero music dropouts.
But again, that was on the RPi 3 which was known to be not that great over Wifi. I haven't tried the RPi4 in the garage.

Yes, I'm sure your garage is further than 30 feet away from your router? Right? He was having dropouts at 30 feet. And I've got about 8 RPie 3s and some are located over 50 feet away with walls between and never had dropouts. I never have used an antenna with my Rpies. Including my Rpi3 in the Garage. So, that is what makes me suspect his WiFi Network is weak. I monitor mine with PiCorePlayer and I like to see a 'quality rating' over 50.
Rpi Model 3 only connects to 2.4G which has a longer range than 5G -- He said he had a 'Dongle' (If he's using it to connect to 5G - that could be a problem)

So the RPI is back in its remote location and I've got strong signal from the AP, which is #2 on the list. Number one is a very old repeater in the same room as the RPI and that is repeating the signal from #2. It is the one that keeps dropping the signal because it is very old and has a weaker radio.
that keeps dropping the signal
So, are you saying that the repeater is the problem? Because the Rpi is saying that the Quality of the signal is 91 - Which should be problem free.
The repeater is an ancient router that periodically loses the signal from the AP. I think probably due to the noise from all the wall warts in the house?
I'd replace the A.P. - Especially if you've got other devices hooked to it!
Yes, my RPi 3 was well over 30 feet from the Wifi router but the point of my post was the comparison with another Wifi device - the iPhone X. Both were in the same garage location but the iPhone X was 100% solid while the RPi 3 was marginal with dropouts.
His Wifi could be weak and that will affect the RPi 3 more than some other Wifi devices.
You were nitpicking. ;-)
But my point is that if he's got trouble with the Rpi 3 at 30 feet, the Rpi is not to blame and an antenna is covering up the problem. So I noticed in his first post that he's got a 'Dongle' on it. - What's that for? - If the Rpi 3 is functioning normally, he's got a WiFi Network problem, where other devices are probably affected. Except of course your iPhone ;-)

This whole discussion reminds me of why I run hardwired Ethernet. 99.9% of the time it either works or it doesn't. There's rarely any of this in-between guessing as to what the WiFi problem might be. Fewer variables to go wrong. Fewer variables to trouble shoot. But I acknowledge that not everyone can run hardwired Ethernet.

Yes, all of my critical listening has Ethernet hooked to it. I've got 5 RPies with Ethernet. The other 6 Rpies are wireless that are mostly used for Radio and Background Music.Edit: --- But, I've got to add that I've never had a problem with Rpie Wireless in the 10+ Years I've been running them.
