...since I posted at the Asylum. I was typically sequestered in the Tweaks/DIY forum. Fond memories of those walls. But now I have a question regarding optimizing a 'portable' PC system (just about fits in this digital nomad's case).Extremely happy with the combo of Pro-Ject DAC Box S2+, FiiO A1 digital amp and JBL Control 1 PRO speakers.
Enhancing the system are a TAGA USB cable, TARA Labs Prism PS Speaker cable, DIY twisted pair RCA cable and IsoAcoustics + another rubbery footer I can't remember the name of footers.
It really is very nice, especially after changing out the speaker cable for the TARAs. But I'm wondering what other tweaks I could apply? Obviously room placement are a massive factor, but I'm pretty limited given my travels.
What about power delivery? This might be a more tweakers asylum related questionm, but can the 12v 3.5A power going to the amp be influenced by noise and where it is plugged in, e.g. from a power extension with two laptops plugged in vs directly to a wall socket?
Thanks! :)
EDIT: To be clear, I don't want to change any of the components listed above. Everything is very good and I'm not looking for a system change. Just wondering if I could have missed something, e.g. an extra thing to add to this desk system that would actually make a difference, or, do something with the power supply of the amp, which is stock.

Don't have any 5V amps, but years ago John Swenson discovered that using star quad cable powering endpoints can yield improvements. He didn't say exactly how but it was cheap enough to experiment. I spent the princely sum of $8 for some starquad cable and connectors. What I found (much to my surprise) is that dynamics were improved on wide range content. More contrast from pp to ff .
I now use Ghent Audio Canare 4S6 starquad with nicer USB and aviation (GX16) connectors for powering both an ultraRendu and Raspberry Pi. They run about $30 delivered.
I just checked and it's actually a 12V 3.5A power supply, if that makes any difference. Thanks for the suggestion. I'm looking at after market power supplies. There's a bit of a market.
Just need to match connectors at either end. Follow link to find appropriate cable.
