I have two RPI4's running PiCorePlayer. One is in my listening room and one is in my office. They are both turned off when not in use, and I only use one at a time. Thus each needs its own LMS.
I had earlier updated the office LMS version for some other reason, so it worked, but the listening room LMS had not been updated from 8.2.0. It was supposed to auto-update, but being powered down it couldn't until next time it was powered on. Maybe if I had just let it sit there powered on it would have eventually updated by itself.
A more streamlined installation would be to get another RPi #4 (They are pretty cheap) and have it run just LMS and leave it on 24/7. Then run just squeeze-lite on the other 2 players.
That is what I do, as well as the PcP developers. I think you'll find the response time snappier, and less chance of corrupting your Music Data Base by improper shutdowns. I even leave my LMS Rpi on when I'm away for the winter.
I have helped people that corrupted their Music Library and it produces Strange Symptoms. That is why there is this warning on the LMS Page.
Squeeze Ctrl has a button to shut down PiCorePlayer, but it doesn't seem to work. When I use that, I can still connect to the PiCorePLayer main page.
So I will set up a link on my phone to the main page and shut it down that way when I'm finished listening.
Also, it wouldn't hurt to leave your RPies on 24/7. Have one run LMS and Squeeze-Lite and the other just Squeeze-lite. I have my Travel Rpi running 24/7 here in the West Indies. It will be on for the entire 3 months I'm here. Probably easier on the Hardware than Shutting it down all the time. I have never had an RPi develop a hardware problem. And I've got 10 of them.
