And Insitu won't let me upgrade my version of pCp. Any option other than going back to flashing a new SD card?
Follow Ups:
For some reason unbeknownst to me, Qobuz is working again on piCorePlayer 6.1. I haven't even gone in to check the plugins. (Its second chance at life may have resulted from rebooting Squeezelite.) I'm just gonna leave well enough alone for now. But as always I appreciate the support of the audioasylum community, especially Cut-Throat.
Thanks to your help, when I absolutely must upgrade, I'll be ready.
Just get another Micro SD card... They're cheap... get a Small one.. 8,16,32 Gig, they'll all work.
Then Save the working one that you currently have as a backup. And then burn the latest PcP release on the new Card. You'll only need about a half hour. Follow the video and you'll see how easy it is.
My Guess is that you'll be up and running on the New Release in Short Order. No need to be that far back in a Release.
But does the new release really offer much more in terms of features, et cetera?
Depends on what you are using. I like to keep up date, as there are bug fixes. And you never know until you run into one. And it's so easy to do anyway. I've got 10 Rpies and I keep them all updated.
I just burned a new 64 bit 8.2 card for the garage RPi 3B today and tweaked the config file to declock and disable unnecessary stuff.
Just need to play the temporary wired connection game to complete the WiFi configuration and test. I think it's still running 6.0. :)
You probably can do a Step Upgrade in Place. I have done this before... Rather than jump to the latest release from 6.1 ..... Do the upgrade that is closest to your current release.... Then repeat the process, until you're at the latest.
Yeah, I tried that. I can't get version 7.0 to install.
Not looking forward to going back to square one.
And then try the Major Updates .....
I'm not near my home. Are the patches in the same basic location as the updates?
Yes, Patches are in the Same area .... Don't forget about 'Update Libs' in the LMS area. And you should update your PcP software at least Once a year. Good things keep coming down the Updates.
Also, even if you have to Re-Burn an SD Card and reconfigure LMS it really doesn't take that long. Especially since you've done it before.

Thanks for your guidance.
I don't remember what I did three and a half years ago, but I know I have a great resource here at audioasylum should I falter. :-)
I have given this Video Link to complete PcP newbies and most of them were able to install it totally on their own. I answered very few questions.
