pretty much every day, by how great my Ref3A DECapo I speakers sound. Pretty dern mesmerizing considering they are conventional drivers.

I'd like to try Maggies someday, but probably not in the cards...

You should try a PHY-HP single driver augmented with a super tweeter and no crossover.

Also, I would not take Magneplanars as the sine qua non of planar speakers. In my opinion, to my ears, they are only rescued by the ribbon tweeter that is included on the more expensive versions. Before that, they always sounded overdamped, leaden, to me, compared to any good ESL.

for best results. We have customers using M-60s on the MG-1.7s and the like with good results.
