Here is a link to a schematic, as well as a jpg file gleaned from that link. does this help?
Follow Ups:
Hey Airhead, I just finished restoring another pair of otl-3's
they sound fantastic.
Wow.
I wish I understood the picture better. What are the speakers? And what is in each of the chassis I can see?
otl-3's on outside otl-4 in the center, old pair of Paradigm Export monitors
I can't help but wonder what the source and destination of these OTL3's are.
Mine still work really well, but i'm tempted by various thoughts.
Many Thx anyway, I've this schematic yet, it's useful but not complete.
found this
this is the voltages you should see on a working otl-3
the idle current of 336.6 is a little high,
if using efficient speakers or Quad electrostat's the you can drop that down to 150ma,
I usualy set the Idle current around 250ma
hope this helps.
Many Thanks!
If you've got all the voltages its easy enough to calculate the currents. For example, the current of the filament winding can be sorted by looking up the tube types and seeing what they are rated for. I would then rate the windings to have at least 20% greater current.
For the DC outputs its a bit trickier since you have to calculate the voltage rise due to the capacitances involved. Again its a good idea to over rate the high voltage windings so that the transformer will survive; if you're going to have a reliability problem its probably going to start with the high voltage windings.
