I'm going to HSB tomorrow with a couple buddies, and a hundred thousand or so other people. I haven't been since before pandemic. It's always conflicted with going to Colorado this time of year. Anyhow, it's a fun venue. I hope you've been there. Surely some of you have.
I suppose it might be a little early to talk about it since I haven't been yet. Strictly speaking, I hardly know any of the bands. Emmy Lou, Wood Brothers I want to see but they're on at the same time, different stages, both are closers. I got the most recent vaxes yesterday, so they will barely have kicked in but I don't plan on jamming in the middle of the crowd like I used to. I think I missed Jackie Greene this year, a local Sacramento guy I like. Blues rock harmonica and guitar. I used to catch him when he was maybe 17 here in clubs.
I'll take the 'big camera'. I have a pretty new compact telephoto zoom lens that should work well. Equivalent to 80-300mm/f4. I'll bring a fast lens for later if I need it. And a phone camera, of course.
Follow Ups:
Went in person Friday -
Saw some great shows- before the heat tapped us out-
Saturday I watched remotely - Our Daughter was in the thick of it in Lindley Meadow!
Steve Earl was the highlight-
But lots of great new performers!
Happy Listening
It's going to be much hotter here than you're used to, but you're used to hotter than SF
weather, so...
Seen JG a couple times opening for the band the fiddle player below plays in. Good stuff.
Will look forward to some pix.

Wood Bros
Random PBR guy. PBRs were 2 for $5 from the crowd guys walking around with coolers.
it was warm, alright. I saw 95F for SF in the afternoon. 100 in Sunnyvale. The joke in Sacramento used to be how they start dropping like flies in SF when it gets above 80.
But the music was good. For a while, I thought the crowds were light, but then they kicked in. By the time of the closers like Emmy Lou and Wood Bros, the place was packed. I didn't crowd my way up through the masses to get a good photo. I figured there are plenty of photos of those folks available. The people watching was excellent, as usual.
Fun day. My phone says I put in about 20,000 steps.
The Wood Bros. bros bass looks like it could use some more wood on it.
80 used to be the DLAF temp. We are at 74 now.
Events like that people watching is certainly a highlight.
Your phone says? What say the feets?
Good to hear it was a good time!
