Hello Kevin,
Would one get satisfactory results with using the LL1544A with a high output MC cart (Sumiko BPS Evo) with 2.5mV output? The input transfomer would be confugured for 1:2 step up, to be used with an MM input stage of 50kOhm input impedance (34dB MM + 23db linestage.) I was thinking you'd get the "usual" MM cart output level with the LL1544A.
Thanks for any advice..
Regards...
Follow Ups:
It would be helpful if there was a "generator" impedance specification available, but I can't find one. However, I would expect that the LL1544A at 1:2 will work fine. I would be surprised if this cartridge was very sensitive to load impedance, but the 47K input resistor reflected back to the cartridge will look like about 12K with this arrangement.

BTW Kevin..
What about with the Hana SH high output MC cart? It has 2mV output and 130R internal impedance.. A friend has this cart and is looking for a non active headamp solution too. Thanks again..

Hi Kevin.
Thanks.. Yeah, I was thinking worst case scenario would be HF loss because of the reflected impedance since the cart manuf still reccomends a 47k input load like most MM's. But without further spec on the cart's internal impedance, etc., it's a try it and listen thing I guess.
Thanks again.
Regards....
