Titanium is stronger for a given weight but it's a harder material to make and form and is still sensitive to metal fatigue. I have seen Ti diaphragms for a 1.4 inch exit driver that literally shattered into flakes of various sizes on touching. Avoid using breakup mode range at significant level.

The last sentence is key to my success in using pro compression drivers in my homes for many years in the new millenium.
In a 2" throat driver, with 4" VC, I never used shelving on the top end, going for a Super Tweeter instead (tractrix).
Why amplify all those "nasty things up top" when there are so many great Super Tweeters out there from 106-111 decivel sensitivity to work with!
their diaphragm is made of a 'unique aluminum alloy (aluminum, titanium, and copper)'.

Enjoying mine for 2 years, for many hours weekly, along with Danley system.
Sounds good, i used the 475 a bunch of years ago and it was very clear sounding. Radian made their name with replacement diaphragms and some were supposed to be better than the originals and that was 20 years ago.
I second the motion relative to Radian quality. Purchaser should have no worries!
as the original JBL aluminum diaphragm for the 2441 is no longer available.
