In Reply to: RE: My JBL 2226J measures 8 Ohms across the terminals posted by B. Scarpia on March 10, 2023 at 07:31:55
I removed and tested the 226J in the good speaker and it measured only slightly higher at 8.9 Ohms. There's a place marked on the label for Serial Number but it's blank so no point contacting Northridge.
I know my meter is working because it and it's two friends accurately tested the parts and voltages that went into my latest amp build.
So that leaves the crossover and I will remove and test the Rs and Cs but have no way to test the inductor coils. Doesn't seem likely a wire coil that hasn't been hit by a truck changed it's Henriness, though, does it?

I'm confused. Did you not disconnect the first driver to test it?
I didn't not disconnect it.
It's amusing to watch an Ohmmeter wander through a complex circuit but of little real value.

Not disconnecting it probably explains the erroneous reading.
His meter is likely good!
