Ok, I've admittedly gone nuts and sold my Tannoy rectangular GRF's to do an Altec/JBL project. I have a pair of:
Altec 288c drivers,
Altec 311/60 Horns,
JBL 075 bullet tweets
and a custom Jean Hirago xover at 720hz (need to build the tweet xover).
So what I need advice on is what would be the best 15" driver to go into an 8.5 cu ft ported enclosure (octagon, already built) to go with all this. Top contender seems to be an Altec 416z but can't find any easily. What other 16ohm 15" drivers would fit the bill nicely that I can actually find?
I also bought a pair of JBL Paragon horns to try out with the Altec 288s but need some adaptors, anyone got any for sale?
Thanks, all advice greatly appreciated.

As long as you're going nuts you might as well go all the way . . . to Japan --and be the first kid on your block (or in your hemisphere) to own a pair of these field coil woofers from Maxonic. Altec (GPA) cones, and with field coil you can adjust the power supply voltage for optimum matching with your enclosures.

Sounds like a nice system, the 288 drivers on the 311 horns should go down nicely to 500hz, the 311 on the horns I guess means it could go down to 300hz.
You can get 515 or 416 woofers from Great Plains Audio.
Check out Martin Seddon in in Australia.
Azura horns. Here is some good information:
Greets!
Have GPA make you some optimized for your cab/XO instead of just 'making do'.
