  That is one of the drivers I lust for, but would expect the built-in tweeter to be enough, isn't it ?
  
  I use Tannoy supertweeters with my current full-range speakers, but they only have whizzer cones, no coaxial tweeters...

    The km30 in a large OB doesnt need the h30lb15 but it sure adds much bass presure set up as such. The ribbon is used to keep balance right km30 beams a bit If you stand or move off axis trebile drops more than I like, ribbons running very high, if you didnt use h30lb, kept baffle large, didnt mind off axis reduction in trebile its slight, most owners probly dont notice due too hifrequincy roll off with age. And I see manufacters offering PHY full ranges without any tweeters and reviewers as well as others are enjoying I have listened to both 12in and 8in sag- normal versions like this and they sure sound lifeless up top, owners reviewers must not care or cant hear...but after 10khz not much at all out of solo PHY no tweeters sure off axis even less..

      Hmmm... My speakers are supposed to be full-range, but I "need" the supertweeters, even though they are crossedover at 18 khz...

  Hi John,
  The KM30sag coax piezo tweeter already goes up quite high and has decent sparkle. Are you bypassing it and using the ribbon only or rolling off the piezo very high with a cap?

    To me the balance sounds best this way since Iam using h30lb15sag as a woofer, baffles not wide enofe for km30 to produce much bass thus wings and h30lb15, ribbons crossed over very high nothing on km30sag, can easly disconnect ribbons or any other driver, nice thing about OB its all right in front of you no need to remove drivers.

      A dif animal both image wonderfully have a musical connection thats hard to discribe, the PHY is dipole so loads room much diferantly than SE308.The PHY is good in nearfield the se308 is amazily good in nearfield.Both can play crazy loud.But the PHY needs a bit more room than se308.The PHY system has deeper bass responce than se308 I can get by without bass help with se308 but its borderline sometimes more would be better and I did build a subwoofer to match se308.Been a good summer I get to play with some cool stuff.The OB design has so little coloration baffles near dead so doesnt add to sound almost like hanging a driver with string the se308 picks up a wee bit in bass but cab too is dead as all heck so doesnt color sound.
