hi eso
i didn't express well myself. a certain percentage of the magnet force focussed on the voice coil gap is always lost, dependig of the driver design. for example, the Neo radial magnet of the aura 1808 motor does transmit it's force almost 100% to the voice coil gap. I don't know the lost, if it's transformed in heath, ore wathever. However, just looking at the design of the ale, it does not look evolved. that's the reason of my quest. At the meen time, the ale has 24000 gauss on the gap, witch is the highest of the all drivers i know.

I think you're talking about the fringe field. Yes, looking at the design, it looks like it would have some fringing around the gap. That's the problem with a very small voice coil and large center magnet - you easily saturate the pole and have lots of stray field from the top of the magnet to the bottom of the front plate. If they have the distribution of and level of flux they need in the gap, then they've achieved the result they want. It's just not done in an efficient manner.
hi John
u've answered my question. Someone i know in italy is quit advanced to built drivers similar to goto and ale. He has almost all elements together. The only thing he does not know still, is how to make the frp edge of the diaphram, goto and ale uses. But i think much more advanced and evolved designs are around, so he should find a way to get better results than the japanese, just using may some elements of their design, and try to do something better.

Building an FRP surround should be fairly easy. Forming the dome is the hardest part in my opinion. If you can form a dome, you should be able to make the mold necessary to either injection mold the surround or form it in some other way depending on the material you're using (thermoform, vacuum form, etc.).
John
the fellow wants to use a diamond dome.

The most difficult part is :
- to make a voice coil edge wound with 16 ore 32 ohm.
- also what glue to use to glue the frp edge to the diaphragm ?
if you know a company with experience with that, let me know.
