Yes, i changed the phase. You can compare it to the RCA connections just out of curiosity. There are quite a few settings, as I said before, they make a difference.
Enjoy,
Jack
Follow Ups:
This player is the best and most advanced that I have read about, or could afford. It will take some time to explore all the features.
I also will compare to my top line VPI turntable from 1999.
Very, very, good so far.

How are you guys changing XLR pinout on your units? This thread prompted me to check XLR pin layout on my Marantz AV8005. Sure enough it's using European layout which I'm feeding to my NA amps! Manual says I must physically swap pins for compatability. That's a non starter with my Cardas and AW cables unless I send them back to the manufacturer. It will cost me pretty penny and kill the resale value.
Also, congrats on owning an amazing SACD player! You've made the right choice!
Thanks for the tip Kal!
It's too bad there are no mid-level multi-channel SACD players being made anymore. My trusty Sony XA9000 is starting to have problems playing SACDs. I can only hope that I can find a good repair shop that can bring it back to 100%.

Keep me posted on the Repair process of XA9000.
Not physically. Push of a button changes it in the menu.

Edit: FWIW, I eventually decided I prefer the RCA connections.

A lot of balanced (XLR) connections do not meet the US pro circuit standard as Ralph of Atmosphere repeatedly says.I have also found certain RCA cables (Cardas Golden cross) sound best to me.
I will have to try my old Cardas Golden cross cables with this cd player.

What did you prefer about RCA? Also, someone made a comment that Marantz manual is incorrect and their default XLR pinout already adheres to common standard used in Europe and USA with Pin 1: ground, Pin 2:+, Pin 3:- . So no reversing should be required. SA10 might be different but it's worth checking.

Slightly narrower but slightly deeper soundstage. Not a huge difference. Yes, I tried polarity both ways with both connections. :-)
