Because it is wireless streaming to the Roku.

The E30 is not a wifi device, so I can't connect wirelessly to it.

Edit : the older Roku Ultra 100 has a digital optical output. You can connect it to an external DAC and stream audio from a PC.

Edit 2:I tried connection the E30 to the Roku's optical output and the display indicated 48.0 PCM, so CD quality streaming seems possible but not hi-res.
