Just cruzin' around and came across this wonderful thread! I've just been turned on to a ton of new music. The Alexander Sisic Petrijin Venac clip is hypnotizing, I must own it! I'm searching for it but if the CD/LP could be sourced I'd be grateful (wanna trade?). The clips featuring vocals are nice but I much prefer the instrumentals. Tony Gatlif is on my radar, as is Dejan Vlauca. My personal preferences remain the same regardless of genre, when I hear drum machines and artificial sounding instrumentation, I can't hang. And being an ol' school NYRican I simply don't care for Reggaeton, but hey, my loss, right? Some of the music was too old, some sounded like ethnic pop but a lot of it was just right!! Here are a few clips that I hope you'll enjoy!

Hi Chazro !I really enjoyed to listen NY-Gypsy All stars performing ` Butcher`s air` tune !
BTW , for you here is one very old Serbian classic instrumental tune called ` Nizamski Rastanak`, which date from late of 18 century .

Even though he does not use picks, I can't help but wonder what he
would do on a hammered rather than picked dulcimer, say the cymbalom.
I pretty much agree with you about reggaeton except for Calle 13. The
most recent Vavamuffin (Polish reggae band) album, "Mo Better Rootz,"
veers too much into reggaeton and sounds strident and harsh, which
to me is pretty much the major flaw of reggaeton, ala Daddy Yankee.

Rastafarian ceremonial or religious music, repeater drum oriented, and
trombones sometimes appear in unlikely contexts. The best known
practitioneer is probably Ras Michael and the Sons of Negus. Regards,

But here they do a tune about Chernobyl. Regards,

One interesting Turkish band , Baba Zula .

Besmitten ? , not sure what that terms actually means due my very limited English ! , Google Translate wont to help me .
Any way here is the one old tune from Serbian female singer Ceca , followed by some Gypsy brass band recorded for New Year TV show .
