This, as Amazon so understatedly puts it, is a journey through the 20th century.
Richter has worked with Roni Size and Future Sound Of London and scored Waltz With Bashir; you can happily file him alongside Craig Armstrong in both form and content.
It's a soundtrack to something that only exists as you listen to it and it's plain bloody brilliant.
I could have posted this at Music, but no one would have liked it!
Maybe.

Agreed, great album. I also quite enjoy his Blue Notebooks. If you like Max Richter you may also like Wim Mertens one of my favs for minimalist 20th Century.
I also like Blue Notebooks... that was the first of his music I heard... one late night on the radio.
I am moving house on Thursday and will be more than a little overactive for a week before I get a chance to investigate Mertens.
Thanks for the suggestion.

Yes, please do check out Mertens if you have a chance. He's quite prolific so difficult to know where to start, but his Best of Cd is a good place...
