So my brother has a McIntosh C32 with a 1/4 headphone jack. Headphones though are 3.5mm connection. In trying to utilize a 1/4 to 3.5mm adapter the signal breaks in-and-out. Wiggle it and signal comes back in. I think the connection problem is on the 3.5mm side of the adapter. Is there a good quality 1/4 to 3.5mm adapter out there that has a stronger 3.5 mm side to it that always makes the electrical connection? Or is there an alternative solution I'm not aware of? Thank you in advance for your recommendations.

I've run into issues with some adapters not fitting all the way into the socket. Sometimes the plastic grip on the adapter doesn't allow enough clearance for the adapter to fit all the way into the socket.
The blissful counterstroke-a considerable new message.
You just got a bad adapter; luck of the draw. I agree; buy another and return it if NG.
I bought a headphone extension kit at Best Buy a few years ago that has several different adapters. I've never had any trouble with the 1/4 inch to 3.5 mm adapter.

Steve
