that won't break the bank... A friend of mine asked me for a recommendation, and I didn't really have one, as I don't own any. All my headphones are over-ear large can style... I think he mentioned that he doesn't want to spend any more than $150.... Anyone have a suggestion?
Follow Ups:
I've listened to them all and the Beat Fit Pro are the best and worth extending your budget a bit, especially if you get the Comply tips for them.
I have the HiFiman TWS600 Bluetooth ear buds, which I got from Amazon last year for $79. I had to send the first pair back when they wouldn't charge properly. Customer service was very good. They are my first pair of BT ear buds and I didn't want to spend much. They're quite comfortable, the charge lasts a long time, and the sound is much better than I would expect for the price. I've only used them with my Amazon Fire and Android phone, but I'll try them with my Bluesound Node soon to find how they sound with HD quality music.
I was thinking your friend's higher price limit would allow for the next step up, but I see the TWS600 are going for $199 now! Waiting for a sale might be a good option...

Steve
These are by far the best sounding BTs IMO. Decent tuning, they actually sound like music. Search Oluv's Gadgets on YouTube for more info.
that I saw on Ebay for $10.00 and they are AWESOME! My daughter got me a pair of JBL ear buds for Christmas, and the EarFun blow those out of the water! They don't have the same bass response as the JBL, but articulation and clarity are their thing which I greatly appreciate....
I have Apple Airbuds Pro, which periodically go on sale and likely will again when an upgraded version comes out. They come with three different sizes of silicon tips, so it's likely you'll find a comfortable fit. The noise cancellation isn't the best (e.g., not as good as Bose or Sony over the ear phones), nor is the sound (e.g., compared to Sennheiser HD-600), but it's a good compromise.
Anker Soundcore liberty 3. They sound pretty good too.
and my first inclination, not having heard them was to suggest something by them. Also, Sennheiser though I think those would be more than his budget allows...
I bought them for work at home and played them over my Fiio M11 and they sounded better than I expected. I don't listen to a lot of music on them but was pleasantly suprised.
Another vote for the Anker brand. I've bought wireless earbuds, phone chargers, cables, Bluetooth speakers and other things made by Anker and all have been very well made, reliable and great value. A pair of Anker earbuds I bought for my daughter were declared to be a "revelation."
My only experience with Anker is with their "indestructible" iPhone charging cables. My daughters destroy them in months. I've bought several. Recently I returned two that I still had for exchange under their warranty. Very helpful and I got 2 new ones quickly. Had I kept the other 2 I would have been able to replace them as well, but they ended up in the e-waste. All they ask is a photo and the serial number for replacement.
Wired will always give better sound
and why I asked the question, as I have NO personal experience with bluetooth or wireless headphones.
Just picked up a pair of the Sony WF1000M3's from Amazon. As they're old model, they cost $128, not $200 (or $248 for the M4s). So far, very happy with the sound and fit. These are always in the conversation for best ear buds, so your bud shouldn't go wrong. Good luck.
For walking around and all forms of exercise, I like my Jabra Elite 65t. They sound is not comparable to full size headphones or my departed Shure IEMs, but they work really well and have a nice control app.
