Hey! im new here and i need your help with choose headphones for my guitar amp.. I want to play in the evenings at home, but my family better not to hear this) I want to take open good headphones, I will also use them when working with sound on a PC, on the Internet they advise Sennheiser HD 650, what do you think? This is a good $ 400 product.
Follow Ups:
I have 650's and they are pretty good.....best in the mids which is fine for guitar. They are good enough to recommend a dedicated headphone amp to drive them. They will allow you to hear everything around you

I use a little Vox headphone amp, that plugs directly into my Martin electro-acoustic, with Sennheiser HD-600's. Great for practicing without anyone hearing me. Mainly because I suck, and am trying to learn to play.
That said, it works great, is versatile, sounds really nice, and I absolutely love the HD-600'S for any kind of listening.

Outside of the obvious open back issue as noted below, I'd recommend if you're getting the 650s, buy the Drop 6XX version. As far as powering them, a cheap HP dac/amp like the Micca Origen2 would work and still be less than the 650s at over $400.

The 6XXs are no brainers, they've been the standard solid HP choice for decades. But if you want privacy and isolation, a closed back is the way to go. Senn's HD25 is an on ear that's also a common choice.

The answer depends upon what you use to drive them. The Sennheiser HD6xx range are 300 ohm headphones. That high impedance cannot be driven by some headphone amplifiers.
My advice is to hold off on your purchase and meanwhile tell us what you have to drive the headphones.
However if you don't want your family to hear you then you need closed not open headphones in any case. Open means just that, the sound from the outside world entering the headphone and the sound from the headphone entering the outside world are broadly similar. So the HD 6xx range are not suitable for your purposes in any case.

PAR, my experience (using HD6xx) differs -- I find that the sound leaking to the outside world seems small to my office-mates despite enabling me to hear them clearly.
BTW, I too recommend the HD 600, 6xx, & 650 --all seem remarkably neutral for the price.

6xx seems to be getting pretty rep too, although I have no direct experience with these.
