These are Planar Earphones with ear-hooks.I have some mixed feelings about these. I like the size, weight, comfort -but- I can't say they have that "Planar" sound. Not so clear or airy, more on the mass-market consumer side of thick sounding. They are open-back so these should probably not be worn outside or at some public place with lots of noise. At $129 on sale, they are still a bit over-priced imo, perhaps $99 would be a good asking price.

Perhaps the diaphragm needs to be broken in....perhaps. We shall see....

Thanks for the update. I have been eying them for years. They were 99 once IIRC. Have had good luck the the other monoprice planars (havent bought the earbuds) so it would be a surprise if they didnt have that planar sound.
The other cans took to burn in and sounded pretty ugh at first. Now I just let gear burn for a few days before I evaluate it due to the changes I have heard in the past....

Hi DR.
Yes after some burn in they do sound pretty good now. Opened up 100%, I think they still have a bit more to go but for sure they are keepers.
I like in-ear vs over or on-ear, but I need ear hooks...in-ears without them fall out of my crazy shaped ear canals.

Thats great to know. There were some reviews that had them sounding better than the M1060s.
Glad you found a winner!
