I went to a yard sale today and found a pair of AKG K2 headphones. They appeared new and were in the original box. The foam earpads were soft and unusable, so I made some with the foam from an old laptop shipping box. The new ones are a little taller than the originals, so I may be missing a little bass. But they sound good for $1 headphones and are very light to wear. I believe they are from about 1983 when the Sony Walkman resulted in demand for quality mobile headphones.I usually spend my time at the Vintage and Vinyl forums, but I like headphone listening. For serious home listening I use a pair of AKG HD430 phones that I found in a thrift store.
I enjoy reading everyone's experiences with their headphones.

No one considers "serious home listening" with anything other than the top of the line.
Just kidding.
Enjoy your thrift store buys.
