I pulled a pair of Grado Labs SR100 headphones with HP-1000 drivers (red lettering version) out of storage for a non-portable headphone application and was pleased to find the model seems to have a cult following.I was surprised to see how high-priced it can be listed for.
I also came to remember how uncomfortable they can be. Is there a deluxe replacement pad in terms of better comfort without substantial sonic penalties? TIA

Try bending the headband open so the pressure on the ear is reduced enough to be comfortable. My Grado RS-2 headphones are fairly comfortable when adjusted properly.
Good luck,

I've never liked on-ear pads so I went with the G-Cush.
I like it. Maybe you won't.
