I Just picked up a pair of Sennheiser HD518 headphones and I am looking for an inexpensive tube amp for now. Has anyone here tried the little Dot, Xiang Sheng or similar that they sell on ebay ? For now I want to keep things cheap !

I've heard a couple of different Little Dots at Head Fi meets and thought they were quite good. I'm not familiar with your headphones, though. I remember listening to one of the small Little Dots with a pair of Grados and it was a nice combo.
Another idea, if you'd like to keep costs down by building a kit, take a look at the Bottlehead amps. Very supportive community & easy to get help.
I have a Little Dot MK III and am very happy with it. Excellent build quality, but do factor spending a little more to replace the stock tubes. It really makes a big difference!

What tubes do you recommend Kevin?
tHE lITTLE dOT mk11 AND 111 are all good bets. I had the Mk11 and it was well built and fantastic buy from ebay seller David ZheZhe . David is the best and a direct Little Dot dealer and great guy
I decided to go with a little dot , sounds like it's a good value for the money and having people recommend David ZheZhe as being good to deal with helped a lot. I just never felt to comfortable dealing overseas. I want to keep the price low ,which is why I got the model Sennheiser I chose , I figure it should be a good match at a WAF price :) We will work on getting Denons as a spring project !
