dt660 isn't bad especially for classical, but it's certainly inferior to my Sennheiser HD580, the very close predecessor to the justly reknowned HD600.
HD600 is exceptionally good and neutral and comfortable and light. People have been known to try other headphones that, at first, seem to sound better at something or another but eventually call attention to themselves.
The HD600 is just the music. There's a reason it's used by classical mastering engineers.
I've never heard the 660 or 598 but I've owned the HD600s and currently own DT880s. I prefer the beyerdynamic DT880 to the HD600. I agree the HD600 is a great headphone. It left me a little flat, perhaps it was too dark and mellow. The DT880 to my ears are much more lively without being colored. They are very neutral but still very musical. Don't get me worng, if the HD600s were the last headphones I ever own, I'd be quite happy with them. I'm just slightly more happy with the DT880s. FWIW.

My wonderfully light and comfortable Sennheiser HD590 phones finally died after many years, so I went with the not quite as light but still very comfortable DT880. Not an order of magnitude better sound, but slightly better and more neutral.
A key benefit to the HD590 was the detachable, one-sided cable, which I replaced 3 times until I learned to be more gentle. The DT880 has a one-side cable, but it isn't detachable, and I understand it's expensive to repair if you aren't a DIYer. So be gentle.
The 580 is open back. The 660 is closed back. Different purposes, different sound.
I find those hard to compare.
Maybe that's just me.
