Headphone Heights

Hi all! this is my first post here on the HH forum and thought I'd gain some insight and share my initial thoughts on the above combo. As a lover of 2/ch and a modest setup in a well treated room a set of cans was of no real interest as I figured the price point of a decent SQ might be higher than I was will to allocate funds for! well after upgrading an Oppo 95 to the 105 and hearing about the attention paid to headphone playback, I figured it would now at least be worth exploring. this led me to search for some cans around the 100-200 range to get my feet wet. I went out and listened to what was available at different price points up to my allowance and came away knowing the price to play was about what I'd expected! After a little web searching and reading reviews of the various sorts, one set kept coming up and those where the MP 8323's, so I figured this can't hurt to try and return if I don't care for them or give them to my daughter for her Ipod, besides there around $20 bucks.

Well let me just say i feel I got away without having to pay the price to play. from the highs to the lows they are are hard to fault from this Audiophiles standards of what I consider musical playback, they have a fluid sound that's not fatiguing and a very tonal midrange that's more than competent and quite nice to be honest! While I'm sure this just the beginning here on my newly found headphone quest, I must admit it may be awhile before I go looking.
